If you think of Saalbach Hinterglemm, you think of summer and riding a mountain bike! The area around the little village offers you about 400 kilometres routes with a beautiful view and different trails from easy to hard. Every biker will find a route for themselves.
The beautiful area also offers you the perfect destination for a tour with an e-bike. We offer our hotel guests different types of e-bikes. So, everyone – even beginners – can start to ride by electrical bicycle.
The routes for the bikes make it easy to enjoy the landscape and the mountains around Saalbach Hinterglemm. Over 40 little cottages on the routes offer you traditional food so you can have a break during your journey. Let us introduce four of the most popular e-bikes in the area!
A nice e-bike trail for beginners
A nice trail for motorized bicycles starts right beside the ADLER RESORT. The hiking trail goes past the river Saalbach and ends in Zell am See. Beautiful meadows and woods as well as a flat trail are a perfect way for a beginner e-bike tour.
E-Bike Route: The Wetterkreuz Tour, suitable for families. (13.3 km & altitude of 770 metres)
The route starts at the Reiterkogelbahn beside the ADLER RESORT. It leads to the upper terminus over the Forstweg to the Reiteralm – where you can find a power station. The trail is almost flat with a climb at the end to a viewing platform. From there the way back is almost flat and you can enjoy regional food at the Rosswald cottage. The blue line shows you the way back to our hotel and the starting point.
An e-bike tour that is more difficult (21.1 km & altitude of 1,400 metres)
The Hacklberg Trail starts at the Westgipfelgondelbahn. At the Hacklbergeralm the trail goes past the Huberhochalm and a cottage. Here you can take the time to have a break and marvel at the whole beauty of the region. From there you can ride your e-bike back down in direction of the Westgipfelbahn. Just before the station the Buchegg Trail starts. It goes past the Gerstreitalm and back to the beginning of the Westgipfelbahn.
The “Black Lion” tour – specifically for athletes (58.4 km & altitude of 2,400 metres)
In the centre of Saalbach the e-bike route starts with a ride of the gondola lift, the Kohlmaisbahn. Also, the Black Lion trail starts here. A ride with the Kohlmaisbahn leads to the final station at the top of the mountain. From there you have a nice view and you can ride with your e-bike in the direction of Tirol and back to the valley.
If you reach this station of the trail, it will further lead on to the bikeway called Hochfilzen. It follows Leogang and Hütten. The gorgeous trail is at the altitude of 1,400 metres. There you will arrive at the Asitzbahn. With the gondola lift you can reach your goal, the Ederalm. After a break you can drive the whole way back.
